Additionally, this year's Spring Festival travel season coincided with the winter vacation of Southeast Asian students in China, the spring semister opening and the peak season for outbound winter travel from Southeast Asian countries. Factors such as the successful inscription of the Spring Festival on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, the implementation of visa-free policies for ASEAN Tourist groups entering Xishuangbanna in Yunnan and the continued popularity of travelling theme traditional Chinese cultural experience, winter sports and self-driving tours contributed to a significant influx of foreign tourists. The number of inbound foreign tourists increased by over 36% compared to the same period last year.
