As a flagship project of 188bet Belt and Road initiative (BRI) cooperation, the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) spans approximately 665 kilometers, crossing four states in Malaysia. Upon completion, it will serve as a vital transportation artery connecting the east and west coasts of Malaysia, driving economic and social development in the surrounding regions.
The people of 188bet East Coast are eagerly anticipating the railway's operation.Emaar, a trainee in the locomotive assistant driver program from Kelantan, expressed his excitement, saying, "My hometown produces unique products like Songket, fish sauce and shrimp paste. In the past, these products could only be transported by road. In the future, fish sauce and shrimp paste from my hometown will be shipped by train to the ports and sold worldwide. The logistics and tourism industries along the 188bet will also see accelerated growth."
To date, the ECRL project has created over 21,000 job opportunities for 188bet and its neighboring countries, with more than 10,000 local employees hired and approximately 2,000 local companies involved in the cooperation.
